The Sleep Challenge (week 1)

Posted on: 31 January 2010

After a positive start, I admit I have been slacking a little. However, overall my sleep pattern has improved. As more of a night person I'm finding it difficult to persuade my body it's time to sleep at a time that - to me - seems too early (not to mention the ever present number of distractions available). Mornings aren't much better; it's all about motivation (or lack of). And that is something I am hoping to improve in week 2. Without further ado, here all the results of week 1:

Date Morning Night
Sat 23rd Jan --- 11:07PM
Sun 24th Jan 07:53AM 11:04PM
Mon 25th Jan 08:45AM 11:04PM
Tues 26th Jan 08:10AM 11:03PM
Wed 27th Jan 08:30AM 12:25AM *
Thurs 28th Jan 08:45AM 12:30AM **
Fri 29th Jan 09:30AM 12:10AM ***
Sat 30th Jan 09:15AM 11:43PM
Sun 31st Jan 09:30AM ---
Conclusion: FAIL

As you can see, I have half-arsed excuses for the night time mishaps, however I really don't have much of an excuse for all the late rising. I can only hope for more of a success next week.

In addition to week 2 of the sleep challenge, I will be attempting a new challenge. I call it "The Water Challenge". As you know, doctors recommend 2L of water a day. I get nowhere near this (if you don't count tea), so I will be attempting 2L a day for a week. However, to make it a little easier to measure, I'll be using imperial measurements - the pint to be specific. Therefore, i will aim to drink 4 pints of water a day - approximately 2.3L (a little more can't hurt).

Lastly, the new design has been finished for a few days now. Switchover to this new version will happen imminently. So imminently in fact, you may be reading this on the new design. You lucky person, you.
